News this month Club Handicap Competition: The closing
date has now passed for entry into this year’s club handicap
competition. For anybody that already has their name down, the competition
starts on Tuesday 25th March. First round matches should be played at the
convenience of both players but no later than 1st April to avoid overlap with
the second round. Summer Grand Prix: The list for this year’s summer Grand Prix will
be posted on Saturday 5th April. This competition is always very popular and
if recent years are anything to go by the 70 available places will soon be
gone. So, get your name down early to avoid disappointment. The closing date
for entries is Sunday 20th April, with the draw to decide the
teams taking place on Friday 25th April, which is also finals night for the
club handicap competition. The competition itself starts on 6th May. There is
an £8 entry fee which must be paid to John
Swallow before the start of the
competition. |
Metro Competition team news The Metro
competition this year has been a huge success. The first team appear to be
finishing in very respectable third place in the first division this year.
They have played all of their 18 matches and have 241 points, however Phoenix
Fitness could beat them to third spot if they can manage to score 20 points
from their two remaining games. The second team have also
managed a third place spot in division two with 176 points from a possible 14
matches. It looks like the third team
are set to win division three unless Rishworth can score 33 points from there
two remaining games. If not Rishworth look set to steal second place from the
fourth team, who looked almost certain to win promotion with a second place
finish, but a slight dip in results since Christmas looks to have cost them. The fifth team have also managed
a very respectable second place in division four with 225 points from 16
games. The sixth team are a little behind in a healthy mid table position |
